Beaches and resorts are one of the main attractions in South Africa. As the night falls it is a beautiful view outside in the Beacon island. As the pink sun sets the resort glows with a soft light. You can also try bungee jumping of 216 metres which is just 60 km away from the island. Bungee jumping is a total fun and many tourists opt for it every year. Bloukrans Bridge is the highest single span arch bridge where bungee jumping is done. It also serves as a road bridge over a same name river. Near the Beacon Island there are sites for watching dolphins and whale. In Plettenberg Bay there is a large free flight aviary in Birds of Eden. It has got a total of two hectares of forest with indigenous plants and animal species. You can enjoy walk behind waterfall. There are 3500 birds over here with 220 different species.
Another place to visit around Beacon Island is Monkey Land, it is a primate sanctuary almost like next door to Birds of Eden. There is a large forest cover over 23 hectares of land. In Africa the best part is it serves conservation oriented tourism. They educate people about environment and conservation which is a fabulous effort in today’s world. Near Beacon Island there are elephant sanctuaries as well.
