The Avicultural Society of Australia supports its members in the breeding and conservation of aviary held birds. It has nearly 2000 members throughout Australia and overseas. Monthly meetings are held in Melbourne and at various country branches within the state of Victoria.

The Society meets at 8pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
(Except December) at our meeting place in

To all Aviculturalists,
This is your last chance to have your say before the new Wildlife Regulations come into effect about the 22nd of of June 2013.
Please take some time to read the draft.
Remember we only have a month before the cut off time on 3rd May to recommend any further changes to the regulations or submit any further submissions re the taking any birds off licence, moving birds from category A to B or putting submissions in to have birds that we cannot keep, put onto licence. The relevant forms for submitting proposed changes schedules (taking birds off licence etc) can be accessed by Googling

If you have any queries you can talk to your clubs VAC rep or by contacting John Buchan on 9802 8998 or David Renshaw on 0428 518 646 who has a WPTAC meeting on the 18th of April which will be the time for him to discuss these proposed changes directly with the representatives of the DSE.
