100 YEARS OF PERSECUTION FOR NO REASON MUST STOP
Western Rosellas were a regular visitor to my garden in the Perth Hills only a few years ago, they are now gone. Only 4 years ago I camped at Koorda and enjoyed a small population of Western Rosellas breeding in the Gimlet trees, they are now gone.
Only 6 years ago there was a good population of Westerns at Holletton in the central wheat belt, they too are gone.
Only 9 years ago I could find Westerns in good numbers at Hyden, their now gone. This trend has even extended to the Western Woodlands in The Dundas area where they were once easy to find. For someone whose passion is to photograph and study Westerns it is becoming harder every year just to find them. The collapse of Western Rosellas is frightening and this is a video to draw attention to just how serious the decline is.
100 years of persecution for no reason must stop.
